How An Impact Bullet Puller Works
The nice thing about impact bullet pullers are their simplicity of design. A round of ammunition is placed in a collet then positioned in the head of a hammer-looking device (the impact bullet puller) and held in place by the rim of it's casing. The "hammer" is then struck against an object such as a piece of wood. The sudden stop at impact relies of the momentum of the bullet to continue forward and pull apart from the casing releasing the gunpowder within. The bullet and gunpowder are contained inside the head of the bullet puller. Note - since most impact bullet pullers are made from plastic it is recommended not to strike them against hard surfaces such as steel or concrete. Wooden surfaces, such as a 2x4 work fine.

Why Use A Bullet Puller?
When you reload your own ammunition you are bound to make mistakes. Sometimes you may find you even have a dud primer. Instead of throwing the round of ammunition away, with a puller you can disassemble the round into it's component parts (bullet, gunpowder, casing and primer) and reuse them.
