Shooting 380 Auto Ammo In A 9MM Pistol
My friend and I conducted a Hollow Point Bullet Hole Test the other day to see for ourselves the expansion of hollow point bullets. The test used a variety of ammunition in different calibers. During the test, I mistakenly handed a Speer 380 Auto Hollow Point round (thinking it was 9MM) for him to fire in his Glock 17 (which fires 9MM Luger ammo). He loaded it and fired it. The round fired well but the case failed to extract from the chamber. He removed the case from the chamber and upon examination discovered it was a 380 round and not a 9MM round of ammunition. We were both surprised.
