Step by step instructions for cleaning Glock magazines. They seem to last forever but should be cleaned periodically to ensure performance. Cleaning them is fast and easy (once you know what you are doing). The hardest part is taking it apart for the first time. After that, it gets easier.

Glock Magazine Cleaning Instructions

No special cleaning solutions are required to clean the parts. An old toothbrush, q-tips, paper towels and soap and water are all that is needed. Most any household cleaning solution will do as well. I found that Windex makes the job fast and eay and does a great job. Just be sure to thoroughly dry each part before you put the magazine back together. DO NOT LUBRICATE THE MAGAZINE PARTS. Any type of lubricant will only attract dirt and grime and "dirty up" your Glock magazine faster.

The first step in cleaning a Glock magazine is to disassemble it. Only one tool, a Glock Armorers Tool or 3/32" punch is required to take the magazine apart. The procedure for disassembling is Glock Magazine Disassembly & Cleaning.

Part #32 - Clean The Body Well

Clean the inside and outside of the magazine well. Run a paper towel through it to dry.
Part # 31 - Clean The Floor Plate

Clean & dry the magazine floor plate. Use a brush to clean in the channels.
Part # 30 - Clean The Spring

Clean the magazine spring with a tooth brush and paper towels. Use care not to stretch or deform the spring.
