How The Cominolli Safety Works
The mounting block appears to be a modified stock Glock part. It has a milled rectangular slot on top and through to the ejector mounting arm slot this slot provides a captive guide for the upper lip of the Cominolli trigger bar guide.

An area of the mounting block material is removed to allow a portion of the ejector mounting arm to be exposed. The Cominolli tension spring and pressure plate also have mounting block machined areas along with a semi circular groove for the pivot point of the Cominolli safety lever to reside. The cruciform of the trigger bar is assembled with the left (side when viewing a target) cruciform arm through the slot in the Cominolli trigger bar guide. When the mounting block and trigger bar assembly are back into the Glock frame, the trigger bar is free to move as with a stock Glock with the safety off. However, when in the ready condition and the safety is put in the “safe” (up) position, the safety catches the Cominolli trigger bar guide preventing the trigger bar from moving to the rear. The detent provided by the Cominolli pressure plate and tension spring keep the safety in the desired location. Thus the trigger cannot move with the safety engaged. A very simple but truly elegant design!
