GLOCK FIELD STRIP DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE

Field stripping your Glock pistol for normal cleaning or inspection consists of dismantling it into its main component parts (slide, barrel, recoil spring assembly, receiver & magazine). It comes apart in seconds. No special Glock tools are needed.

To Field Strip Your Glock Pistol

Glock pistols are stripped into their component parts in the following order: 1) Remove Magazine, 2) Verify Gun Is Unloaded, 3) Depress Trigger, 4) Remove Slide and 5) Remove Barrel. The following pictures show the process.

	Remove The Slide From The Receiver. • Grasp the pistol in the right or left hand in such a way that four fingers rest over the slide and the thumb rests on the rear side of the receiver - make an O.K. with your hand and slip the beaver tail and end of the slide through the palm side of the O.K. hole) • Using the fingers draw back the slide no more than 1/16" (if you pull it back too far - you will need to rack the slide, pull the trigger and repeat this step). • Pull the slide lock downward with the thumb and index finger of the free hand (pull both tabs down at once to the bottom of the groove). • While holding the slide lock tabs down, push the slide forward and separate it from the receiver.
	Remove The Recoil Spring – Push the recoil spring assembly somewhat forwards with the thumb and raise it – Take the recoil spring assembly out of the slide.
	Remove The Barrel And Recoil Spring Grasp the barrel on the barrel locking piece, push it slightly forwards, raise it and pull it backwards out of the slide. Reassembling the GLOCK pistols is carried out in the reverse order to the above. - The GLOCK Pistol Is Now Field stripped -

Subject: Need To Remove Slide Cover Plate

No, it wasn't helpful. I need to remove the slide cover plate without messing it up and it didn't explain how to do it.
