Glock Ammunition Magazines

Glock Magazines seem to last forever. The only reason you would need to disassemble one would be to clean it or replace the magazine spring. Disassembly is fast and easy (once you know what you are doing). Removing the magazine base plate (or floor plate) is the hardest part of the disassembly process. It's not really hard. You just have to do it once to know how much force to use and how to manipulate the punch. The entire disassembly of the magazine can be done in less than a minute. Here are the steps to follow.

Step 2 - Insert The Punch

Push the punch against the little tab in the hole on the bottom of the base plate. Push it all the way down. You might have to use a little force. You may hear a little snap as you dislodge the hidden magazine floor plate insert. Don't worry you didn't break it.

Step 3 - Squeeze Mag. Body Sides

The magazine has two tabs on either sides of the opening that holds the base in place. You have to squeeze the sides of the magazine body to release the tabs to allow you to slide off the base plate.

Step 9 - Cleaning Components & Reassembly

Clean all part. I used Windex followed with soapy water to clean the parts. Thoroughly dry. Do not oil or lubricate the parts. Oil will attract and retain dirt and particles.
