Why Own A Glock 19?

The Glock 19 is the perfect choice for a pistol. It affords you the flexibility of choice for concealed carry, use as a car gun or a reliable defensive weapon in the night stand by your bed. The 9mm caliber ammo is large enough for most defensive situations and is easy to handle. If you not that great a shot, the 15 round capacity lets you keep shooting if need be. If you need more capacity you can always use a larger magazine. The biggest factor for owning a Glock 19 is it's reliability. Having confidence that every time you shoot it will go bang is the most important feature of a gun.

Glock 19 has a reputation of being one of the best weapon systems in the world because of it's simplicity of design, reliability, durability and minimal maintenance.

1. Simplicity of design.

2. Durability. Extremely resistant to rust and mistreatment.

3. Little maintenance required. Glocks are rumored to shoot indefinitely with little or maintenance.

4. Unparalleled reliability.

5. Built-in safety features.

6. Law enforcement use. Approximately 80% of America’s law enforcement use Glocks.

7. Light weight & size. The Glock 19 is small enough for concealed carry.

8. Holds it's resale value.

9. Glock's great reputation.

10. Large capacity. The Glock 19 standard magazine can hold 15 rounds and more with larger magazines.

11. Cheap cost of 9mm ammo relative to larger calibers.

12. Availability of 9mm ammo. Easy to buy. Glock are plentiful and all over the world. Easy to get parts no mater where you are.
    

 

Glock 19 Review: THE BAD Things

1. Limited knock down power (some say).

2. Recoil. Due to it's light weight and small size recoil is manageable but slightly more than corresponding heavier and larger 9mm pistols.

YOU CANT GO WRONG WITH A GLOCK 19. The Glock 19 is my favorite pistol. It's light weight, reliable, rugged, holds 16 rounds, is small enough to carry and has the Glock reputation behind it. Check out the price of a Glock 19.

Glock Internal Locking System (ILS) Safety Feature

Glock I owned a glock m23 cal 40. Its ILS fall off and lost it. Can it installed with a new one? where can i source it here in the Philippines?

Glock ILS Information
In 2003, Glock announced the Internal Locking System (ILS) safety feature. The ILS is a manually activated lock that is located in the back of the pistol's grip. It is cylindrical in design and, according to Glock, each key is unique. When activated, the lock causes a tab to protrude from the rear of the grip giving both a visual and tactile indication as to whether the lock is engaged or not. When activated, the ILS renders the Glock unfireable as well as making it impossible to disassemble. When disengaged, the ILS adds no further safety mechanisms to the Glock pistol. The ILS is available as an option on most Glock pistols. Glock pistols cannot be retrofitted to accommodate the ILS. The lock must be factory built in Austria and shipped as a special order.

Which Gun To Buy. Glock 19 or Glock 23?

I intend to buy my first handgun and i prefer glock. what should i get glock 19 or glock 23. i never fired a gun before.

Before you buy your gun I would suggest that you get proper instruction, go to the range and fire a few rounds off first. Try a variety of guns to see what is best for you. You might end up saving yourself a lot of money if you find you picked the wrong gun or can't handle the recoil.

When I took my first gun course, a women in the class bought a handgun and brought it with her to the class (for the shooting portion). When she shot the gun (for the first time) she didn’t like it at all (too much recoil). She left the class without finishing the course. The instructors offered her the use of a less powerful gun but she became too afraid of guns and walked away.

That being said, a Glock 19 and Glock 23 are great guns. I own a Glock 19 and it is my favorite gun.

Last week I was at the range and had a chance to shoot a Glock 23 (.40 S&W) and compare it with my Glock 19 (9 mm Luger). I found out something interesting about both guns. See Glock 19/Glock 23 Warning.

The guns are basically identical except for the ammo that they shoot.

Here are some things to consider when you make your choice.

- The Glock 23 has slightly more “stopping power” (but I don’t know if that difference really matters).
- The Glock 23 has slightly more recoil ( I could barely notice the difference).
- The Glock 19 ammo (9 mm Luger) is cheaper and more plentiful.
- At the range I see a lot more people shooting 9 mm than .40 caliber.
- Availability of parts, mods, enhancements and accessories are probably about the same for both guns.

I would personally go with the Glock 19 but I am a little biased.

But, seriously, you need to get instruction and shoot them before you buy them.

Aren't there any Bad Glock 19 Reviews?

If you search the internet for Glock 19 reviews you will have a hard time finding negative or bad reviews. I just conducted a search on Google using the keywords "Glock 19 review" and "bad". The only results listed were about people's individual preferences with regard to the Glock 19's lack of a manual safety and that if you had small hands it might not be as comfortable to hold as other guns. I then searched the internet for the keywords "Glock 19 review" and "negative". Here again I could not find any negative comments. People just seem to love the Glock 19. Overall, it says quite a lot when you go looking on the internet for bad things about a product and find none.
