How Often Should I Change The Recoil Spring Assembly In A Glock 19?
The Glock factory recommends every 7,000 rounds. Some guns have gone as far as 100,000 rounds without changing the spring. It's the owner's call. It's nice to carry a spare recoil spring in your range bag just in case. It's a low cost part and it's one of those things that if it fails the gun will not operate.

Should I Replace My Glock Factory Recoil Spring With A Stainless Steel?
The stainless steel spring is rigid and heavier than the plastic factory spring. It will make the gun shoot a little bit better because the added weight reduces the felt recoil and the rigidness of the rod helps keep the slide aligned and on track for a better recoil snap.
Should You Oil A Stainless Steel Recoil Spring?
Yes. A very light coat of oil should be applied to the stainless steel guide rod.
Should I Change The Spring Weight Of My Glock Recoil Spring Assy?
If you're not reloading your own ammunition, or shooting hot loads (+P) ammunition, it is advised you stay with the factory spring weight for your Glock. If you reload your ammunition with low power loads a less weight spring may be suitable. If you use high power loads a higher weight spring may be suitable.
What Is The Factor Spring Weight Of A Glock 19?
The Glock 19 has a 18lb factory spring.
