When I began reloading my own 9mm Luger ammunition I tried to find the best (safe & reliable) smokeless powder to use. Winchester 231 smokeless powder was my first choice but at the time that I began reloading, Winchester 231 was expensive and sold out at just about all the reloading stores. I had to turn to my second choice which was Hodgdon TiteGroup Smokeless Powder. See also Ammunition Reloading Instruction & Reviews.

As it turns out, Hodgdon TiteGroup was an excellent choice. I have since reloaded over 18,000 rounds of 9mm Luger ammo and have had absolutely no powder related problems. TiteGroup worked flawless for me and was cheaper and readily available when I needed it.

Hodgdon TiteGroup Smokeless Powder

Manufacturer Description - As the name implies, this spherical propellant was designed for accuracy. Unlike pistol powders of the past, powder position in large cases (45 Colt, 357 Magnum and others) has virtually no effect on velocity and performance.
