What Is A Crimp? (Ammunition Reloading)
A crimp with regard to cartridge ammunition is the bend of the case mouth against the bullet. The crimp is located at the top of the case. Crimping is used to hold the bullet to the casing. There are two types of crimps, a roll crimp and a taper crimp. Not all ammunition has crimps.
