What Is A Glock Firing Pin Safety?

 
The Glock Firing Pin Safety of a Glock pistol is a small spring loaded metal plunger that blocks the firing pin channel and prevents the firing pin from moving forward accidentally. When the trigger is pressed the firing pin safety is pushed up and out of the way allowing the firing pin to move forward and hit the primer.

Maintenance

Replacement Interval

The Glock Firing Pin Safety should require no maintenance other than periodic cleaning and inspection. Inspect and clean every 5,000 rounds (or best judgement). The Glock Firing Pin Safety should last the life of the gun and should never need to be replaced.
